Elevator pitch

Cookups is Bangladesh's largest online marketplace for homemade food with its' own delivery fleet. We use technology to empower women by enabling them to earn an income from home. They sell their food to diners who prefer to eat wholesome food from hygienic environments rather than restaurants.

I have studied Sociology and Anthropology at Denison University, OH. I worked as a journalist for two years, writing about social issues pertaining to women. Cookups is my first foray into entrepreneurship.

Started off in digital media & e-commerce with Ogilvy in New York. Most recently he headed marketing at Bikroy. His current and previous projects include Cookups, Oi Khali, the break, and the Farmers Market.

Our revenue model is a commission based model and we charge a subscription based on value added services which we provide to our suppliers (the Cooks). We also charge a fee for delivery which is split between the Cook and the customer. We charge an on-boarding fee for kitchen inspections from new Cooks.

Cookups is different from Foodpanda & Hungry Naki because they don't offer homemade food.
We are different from the other homemade food delivery services because we are multi platform (both on Facebook & our own app), we're the only one that does kitchen inspections and we have our own integrated delivery partner.

We started the platform as a Facebook group and currently have 50,500 members and 35,000 active users. Since we launched our app in Aug 2017, we have had 8,540 downloads out of which 7,740 users have registered with us. We have 4210 monthly active users on our app and 5,311 orders per month. We have 559 registered Cooks who sell food worth 31,250 USD per month.
